Diflucan (fluconazole ) is an antifungal antibiotic. Diflucan is used to treat infections caused by fungus, which can invade any part of the body including the mouth, throat, esophagus, lungs, bladder, genital area, and the blood. Diflucan is also used to prevent fungal infection in people with weak immune systems caused by cancer treatment, bone marrow transplant, or diseases such as AIDS.
Generic versions are available in Canada and were FDA approved in September 2006. Mylan Pharmaceuticals was recently granted final approval for generic topiramate 25, 100, and 200 mg tablets and sprinkle capsules by the FDA for sale in the US. 50 mg tablets were granted tentative approval. The last patent for topiramate in the U.S. was for pediatric use; this patent expired on February 28, 2009.

 

Baclofen (brand names Kemstro and Lioresal) is a derivative of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). It is primarily used to treat spasticity and is under investigation for the treatment of alcoholism. It is an agonist specific to mammalian, but not fruit fly (Drosophila) GABAB receptors.Its beneficial effects in spasticity result from actions at spinal and supraspinal sites.

Indicated for the treatment of Lower urinary tract Symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostate hyperplasia and available since 1996 as capsule controlled release formulation in the main world markets. Starting in 2005, a new tablet formulation based on the OCAS (Oral Controlled Absorption System) technology has been made available in many European markets and in Canada.
